Who employs the substitutes?

A:  Flexible Educators is the employer of record for substitutes, and we will handle payroll, workers comp or unemployment claims. We also will recruit substitute teachers year-round to provide a deep and diverse pool to teach at your school district.

How do I select a specific substitute for a class?

A:  We will partner with your district and your teachers to find the best fit for each class. Our Flexible Education staff are here to work with you and can always be reached through phone at 660-646-6500 or email at jobs@flexibleeducators.com. Our scheduling software also gives teachers the option to select specific substitutes that they would like to teach their class.

How will our teachers communicate with the substitutes?

A:  Through our substitute scheduling software, your teachers can message substitutes directly. Teachers also are encouraged to upload their lesson plans directly to the site so the substitute can access the information and prepare before the class begins.

How do I schedule a last-minute substitute?

A:  For last-minute substitute scheduling, we recommend you call Flexible Educators at 660-646-6500 so we can find someone as soon as possible. We also recommend putting the absence on the substitute scheduling site so substitutes will be notified. We have a qualified and talented group of professional substitute teachers to fill in with limited notice. Our on-call office opens at 6:00 a.m. each day, so give us a call as soon as possible and we will find a sub to meet your needs.

How do I schedule a substitute for an extended absence?

A:  Flexible Educators employs a number of teachers who are able to teach a variety of subjects for an extended amount of time. Just let us know the details and we will find the right teacher for the opening or act on your recommendation. All substitute scheduling is contingent on the school administration approval.

What if my teachers do not want to use a computer to schedule their absences?

A:  Flexible Educators offers alternate methods to schedule substitutes if your teachers do not want to use the computer. You can schedule a substitute at any time through our scheduling site’s automated phone system or you can call us at 660-646-6500 from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
