Flexible Educators is partnering with several Kansas City area schools to hire Substitute School Nurses.
The School Nurse will collaborate with the school administration to establish health procedures and programs and maintain student health records.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Provides illness, injury assessments, interventions and follow-up.
- Provides identification, assessment, planning, interviewing and evaluation of student health concerns.
- Develops Emergency Action Plans (EAP) for student care at school.
- Participates as the health team specialist to develop Individualized Health Plans (IHP).
- Provides case management for students with complex needs.
- Provides on-going health counseling with pupils, parents, school staff and health agencies.
- Initiates referrals to parents, school staff, and community.
- Additional duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements:
- RN with a valid license to practice as issued by the State Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to deal tactfully with others and to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions.
- The ability and patience to work interactively with children.
